Suicide’s not a laughing matter
Re: And so it begins: Paris Jackson’s suicide attempt (Metro, June 6)
I just read Thursday’s Metro and I just wanted you to know how s— your article about Paris Jackson made me feel.
From your perspective, she could have the best life in the world — but that doesn’t delegitimize her experiences and feelings.
Suicide is real. Sarcasm is a violent and tasteless way to talk about it.
And I don’t even care about Paris Jackson. Just thought I’d suggest a little more sensitivity when talking about suicide.
You never know what you’re going to trigger for your readers.
