Turn the tables on the faithful
Re: ‘Separation of state and wedding bells’ (Metro, July 1)
There is a separation of church and state, which is exactly why the state is involved with the institution of marriage.
Marriage originated as a social, legal union — not merely a religious ceremony.
With that in mind, how about the people of the state keep “marriage” and the people of the church can have “religious unions”?
