Letter: 9/11 unified America
As a firsthand witness to the destruction of the World Trade Center, my lingering memory is less about the perpetrators’ callous disregard of human life than the unification of my fellow New Yorkers. Individual walls came down and the playing field, from CEO to messenger, was leveled as New Yorkers pulled together and opened up in a heart warming manner.
The tragedy of 9/11 left me with the indelible feeling that in times of crisis, our nation will move beyond our differences and remind the world why we are named the “United” States of America.
