Letter: Illegal: Against the law
I find it very disturbing that our government leaders, both locally and nationally, fail to understand the term “illegal.” A person who enters this country illegally should automatically be liable for deportation, whether they’ve committed a crime or not.
They already committed a crime by sneaking into this country. To enact laws that cater to people who openly disregard U.S. laws and the norms of society is, itself, a criminal act. It does matter how they got here. To make such a statement is a slap in the face of all the honest, hardworking people who came to this country legally. They work legally, pay taxes, LEARN THE LANGUAGE and become part of the fabric of American society that’s not a blight on society. Stop using illegal immigrants as pawns for votes. It’s pathetic.
