Letter: Take pity on the shy ones
Re: ‘No separate dating rules’ (Metro, June 9)
To letter writer Isabel Barros: You are displaying the same discrimination you accuse the article writer of. You state that you will date any man who has the confidence to ask you out. What about all the men who lack that confidence? Maybe they’d turn out to be your perfect mate in every other aspect; would you really destroy that potential because they can’t do that one thing? Many women fail to realize that for a lot of men, asking a woman out can be torture; it’s the hardest part of the dating process. There are a ton of honest, loyal, real men out there, yet you’ll never know them because you refuse to meet them halfway.
