Letter: Some things should really stay personal
Re: ‘I’m proud of who I am’ (Metro, June 10)
Here’s my question on this article: Why is it that now anyone who is gay or transgender feels the need to inform anyone who’ll listen what their status is? Where is the filter on personal information in this world now? Do I really need to know who’s gay and who’s transgender? I have no need for that much personal knowledge of some one I don’t know or care to know about. People like that need to get over themselves, its not that damn serious. I’m straight — do I feel the need to announce to the world that I’m straight every time I walk in a room? No, because who really cares. There was definitely something more newsworthy than his sex change.
I know the paper is free, and you get what you pay for, but in the future could you please spare those of us who are who are actually looking for news from the fluff pieces.
