Lesnar, Velasquez eye improvement
Tough training camps have UFC heavyweight champ Brock Lesnar and No. 1 contender Cain Velasquez thinking they’ll be much-improved fighters when they step into the octagon next weekend.
Good for them.
Scary for most every other heavyweight in the world.
“If you want to be at the top of the game now, you have to be a well-rounded fighter,” Lesnar said during a conference call yesterday leading up to his showdown with Velasquez at UFC 121. “My background is wrestling. We’re both junior college wrestlers and Division I athletes. We both understand — at least I?do — that you have to evolve.”
Velasquez said he’s working hard to try to negate Lesnar’s distinct size advantage.
