Playing the Field: 50 Cent tries to kiss Erin Andrews

The Daytona 500 always brings out celebrities — ones that have absolutely no interest nor knowledge about NASCAR.

So of course rapper 50 Cent was just chillin’ on pit road during the prerace festivities as Fox’s Erin Andrews wandered aimlessly through the crowd looking for Danica Patrick. Why they didn’t just have Andrews stationed at the car for the interview, I have no idea.

But the real story of this post is Andrews’s awkward encounter with Fiddy. As she stopped at the sight of 50 Cent, the rapper tried to plant a kiss right on her lips. We think. Regardless, Andrews’s reaction was the most priceless part. It turned into an awkward, air-kissing, “what the heck just happened?” moment.

It made for the most awkward sports reporter/celebrity kissing incident since Suzy Kolber and Joe Namath. (You didn’t think we forgot about that did we?) And we don’t even think 50 Cent was drunk. By the way, Namath’s Chad Pennington criticism still holds up.

Remember this for the future, sports sideline reporters, don’t randomly stop to greet celebrities. There is a decent chance they will try to make out with you live on national television.
