Phillies interview Moyer for broadcaster position
Jamie Moyer could be a dark horse candidate for the open Phillies broadcasting gig.
“The more I’ve thought about it and the more time I’ve spent with the people at Comcast, it’s allowed me to reflect a little bit on my childhood and think about all the great broadcasters I grew up listening to,” Moyer told the Phillies website. “To be a part of that rich history would be pretty exciting.”
The former Phillies hurler interviewed with the team earlier this week.
Phillies reliever Adams expects to be healthy
After missing most of the 2013 season due to various injuries, high-priced Phillies reliever Mike Adams believes he is still on target to be ready for spring training.
The right-handed setup man is due $7 million this season and had his tenth surgery in October due to strenuous workouts led to a sports hernia.
Adams, 35, could be a big boost for the Phillies bullpen, which is mostly a patchwork comprised of young unproven talent, along with veteran closer Jonathan Papelbon and recently resigned lefty specialist Antonio Bastardo.
