Celtics fall in Brad Stevens’ NBA debut, 93-87, to Raptors
Brad Stevens couldn’t grab a victory in his NBA debut last night in Toronto as the new-look Celtics fell to the Raptors, 93-87.
Jeff Green led the C’s with 25 points and Vitor Faverani, who got the start at center, pitched in with 13 points in the losing effort.
What they’ll be saying: The Celtics started off this 2013-14 season with a performance many believe will happen more than a few times over the course of the rest of the 81 games. The fought hard for Stevens, but ultimately lost. The C’s were without Jared Sullinger, who was serving a one-game suspension, but got a solid contribution off the bench from Kris Humphries. Their home opener is Friday night against the Bucks (7:30 p.m., CSN).
