Patriots: Interest in Kyle Arrington return mutual

It’s no secret that in recent years one of the Patriots’ most glaring weaknesses has been the lackluster play of their secondary.

Cornerback Kyle Arrington has been one of the better performers in New England’s defensive backfield, however, and it seems as though head coach Bill Belichick has plans of bringing back Arrington despite the former Hofstra star about to be an unrestricted free agent.

“I love my teammates, I enjoy being here and definitely want things to work out; there’s mutual interest on both sides as far as trying to get something done. (But) it’s a business,” Arrington said during an appearance on Sirius XM’s “Late Hits” show. “So you just have to let it play out and see where the chips fall.”

NFL free agency begins March 12 and the NFL Draft takes place the weekend of April 25. The NFL deadline to place the franchise tag on a player is Monday.
