Santonio Holmes might finally be ready to return to the Jets after missing the last five games due to a hamstring injury.

The injury, suffered in the second half of the Jets’ Week 4 loss at the Titans, has kept Holmes off the field up to this week, including not being able to participate in the team portion of practice.

But now after the bye week, Holmes seems significantly enough recovered to have a shot at playing this Sunday at the Bills. He practiced on Monday which perhaps signal a return to the field this weekend at the Bills.

“I think he’ll play. Looks good,” Ryan said. “I hope he plays.”

The Jets are 3-2 since Holmes left the Titans game with the injury.

Ryan went on to call Holmes a “legit receiver.” In Week 3 against the Bills, Holmes had five receptions for 154 yards and a touchdown.

It wasn’t all good news for the Jets on Monday. Tight end Jeff Cumberland, who missed the last game with a concussion, did not practice.

In addition, linebacker Garrett McIntyre, who suffered a left knee injury in Week 8, rode the exercise bike and did not participate.

“I didn’t practice,” McIntyre said. “It’s just a sore knee. Not anything like a tear or strain or anything like that.”

McIntyre wouldn’t commit to an outlook for this Sunday against the Bills.

After suffering an arm injury in the last game, wide receiver Jeremy Kerley is in a sling and did not practice on Monday.

“Well, it doesn’t look good,” Ryan said. “But I’m not going to rule him out right now. But it certainly doesn’t look good.”
