Jeremy Kerley vows to return this week against Raiders
Jeremy Kerley tells Metro New York he will be back this Sunday — not a moment too soon for a Jets passing attack that has been failing the past few weeks.
The wide receiver’s left elbow was dislocated in Week 8 during a win over the Saints and he hasn’t played or been active since. There is a sense of urgency for Kerley who, despite still feeling soreness in his left arm, said he will boost the league’s worse passing offense.
“I will be out there regardless,” Kerley said. “Regardless.”
Despite missing four of the Jets’ 12 games this season, Kerley is still the leader in receptions (28) and receiving yards (347). The Jets managed just 108 passing yards and just 13 completions from their quarterbacks Sunday in a dismal 23-3 loss to the Dolphins.
He refused to put a percentage on his elbow, simply saying, “Any percent you want to put it at.”
Kerley was able to practice last week, although he said he was limited and didn’t have any contact. He didn’t guarantee what he will do against the Raiders this Sunday — just that he will gut it out and be on the field.
“I will be out there,” Kerley said.
