Sherman-ing: What it is and how to stop it

“Sherman-ing” is sure to be a buzz word when the Super Bowl XLVIII hype gets cranked up next week.

What is “Sherman-ing?”

It’s what happens when you cut a promo on someone at work for using your computer without asking. It’s what happens when you lambaste your roommate for leaving the tub hairy after he man-grooms downstairs. And it’s what’s sure to happen whenever Erin Andrews interviews an athlete going forward (there will be plenty of Richard Sherman imposters in the next couple of months).

People are already “Sherman-ing” on YouTube, though the results so far have been underwhelming to say the least. We can do better, America. I mean, this is all we’ve got as of Tuesday, Jan. 21:

You’re welcome for extra hits, fellas. I would say “Don’t quit your day jobs,” but that would be assuming far too much.

As for Sherman himself, he has since apologized for his outburst at the conclusion of the NFC title game. It’s unfortunate. It truly is.

The NFL’s loose cannon doesn’t seem as loose anymore and the next outburst will seem contrived, even if it isn’t. Plus, we’ll never know how to stop Sherman while he’s Sherman-ing. The best guess at how to halt it temporarily? A long, drawn-out “shuuut up!,” as seen above.
