Dee Milliner back at minicamp for Jets after hamstring injury

Jets cornerback Dee Milliner was a full-go in practice on Tuesday for the first day of minicamp after missing organized team activities (OTAs) two weeks ago as a precaution due to a hamstring injury.

Two weeks ago, Milliner felt “a knot” in his hamstring while chasing down a deep ball in OTAs and the Jets held him out to keep him from further damage. He was bothered with a hamstring injury last year and the Jets wanted to nip this injury in the bud.

“I was [involved in practice] 100 percent, I was in everything,” Milliner told Metro New York. “I felt fine — no problems, no issues. I wasn’t held back at all.”

Milliner said he also did some special teams participation in the first day of minicamp.

Last week, he returned to the field to do some individual work but wasn’t in for much of the team portion of OTAs. The first day of minicamp on Tuesday represented the most work he’s done since the original hamstring tightness two weeks ago.

Last year, Milliner missed offseason workouts, including rookie minicamp and mandatory minicamp, after offseason shoulder surgery. He was also a training camp holdout for a few days as he negotiated his contract last summer.

“I was running around, felt good. No tightness, nothing. It felt good.” Milliner said. “It’s good to be in, getting those reps. Getting ready for the season, getting the work in both physical and mental. I missed that last year. I’m glad to have it this year.”
