Roxbury teen faces gun charges in connection with fatal home invasion
A Roxbury teen was held on $50,000 bail Thursday on charges stemming from a fatal home invasion in Dorchester Wednesday morning.
Cedric Slayden, 18, appeared in Dorchester Municipal Court to face charges of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm. Investigators allege Slayden did not have a license to carry the gun, which was allegedly involved in a break in at 85 Esmond St. early Wednesday. Police say one of the intruders, an unnamed adult man, was killed.
“No charges have been sought for the fatal shooting at this point, but the facts and circumstances surrounding that fatal shooting remain under investigation by Boston Police homicide detectives and Suffolk prosecutors,” Suffolk DA Spokesman Jake Wark said in an email.
More information is expected later today.
