While increased caloric intake can contribute to the onset of early puberty, let’s not neglect to mention the many studies that have determined that increased consumption of meat and dairy products are also a major cause. A study done in England in 2010 showed results of girls getting their period earlier as the ones eating the most meat. High dairy intake has been associated with breast development and early menstruation. Parents need to be aware of the growth hormones given to the millions of cows in this country.
