Although Whitney Houston was found in the bathtub of her hotel room at the Beverly Hilton, the Medical Examiner’s office has reportedly told her family that there was not enough water in her lungs to conclude that the famous singer had drowned, according to Hollyscoop. Instead, it appears Houston died from a combination of prescription drugs and alcohol. Houston reportedly combined Xanax and other prescription drugs with alcohol, causing an overdose. The officials believe she passed away before her head became submerged in water, though the official toxicology report won’t be complete for four to six weeks.

Katy Perry debuted a new, venom-filled breakup song, “Part of Me,” at the Grammys this weekend, and viewers couldn’t help assuming the song’s biting lyrics were directed at soon-to-be ex-husband Russell Brand. “You chewed me up and spit me out, like I was poison in your mouth. You took my light, you drained me down, you ripped me off, your love was cheap,” Perry sang. Perry even altered some of the songs original lyrics to fit her current situation, changing, “You can keep the dog from me, I never liked him anyway” to, “Keep your diamond ring. In fact, you can keep everything except for me.”

Not only were the Grammy Awards a big night trophy-wise for Adele, but it was also a chance for the British singer to make her first official appearance with boyfriend Simon Konecki, according to Us Weekly. Konecki was by Adele’s side in the front row of the Staples Center as she won in all six categories in which she was nominated. The pair had previously been spotted last month on a romantic trip to the Florida Everglades.

Justin Theroux packed on the public displays of affection with girlfriend Jennifer Aniston at a birthday party he threw for her at the Chateau Marmont in L.A. over the weekend, according to the Daily Mail. “She was so excited and made lots of sounds and had a puppy-dog look on her face,” a source says of the birthday girl. “Justin and Jennifer kissed and hugged and were very affectionate with each other. They were both welcoming guests in to the party together. They were just relaxing and she was opening up gifts.” Aniston was also spotted enjoying a cigarette, though she’d said in an interview in December that she’d given up smoking.

Samuel L. Jackson’s decision to support Barack Obama in 2008 was due to the president’s race, the actor tells Ebony magazine. “I voted for Barack because he was black. Because that’s why other folks vote for other people — because they look like them,” Jackson says. “That’s American politics, pure and simple. [Obama’s] message didn’t mean s— to me. In the end, he’s a politician. I just hoped he would do some of what he said he was gonna do.”

While most celebrities with babies work out a deal with a magazine for the first official images of their newborns, Beyonce and Jay-Z went another route, posting five shots of Blue Ivy Carter on a Tumblr site. And stylist June Ambrose, who worked on the photo shoot, says the new mom wouldn’t have it any other way. “B really, really thought about this,” Ambrose tells Us Weekly. “She really wanted to do it this way. She just couldn’t imagine selling pictures of her baby.”
