An Emerson College film student will grace Hollywood’s most infamous stage and hand Oscar statuettes to presenters during Sunday’s live Academy Awards.

Film student Hearin Ko, originally from Seoul, South Korea, is among six students to win the national “Oscar Experience College Search” for aspiring filmmakers.

The contest, hosted by the Academy and mtvU, required contestants to make a video answering the question “How will you change the future of movies?”

In her video, Ko said, “I think the film industry is ready for the next Asian film director. I like making films that blend reality with surrealistic elements… When I become a filmmaker, I want to set the boundaries clear and establish magic realism as an official genre in film.”

Oscar host Seth MacFarlane announced the contest during a surprise visit to UCLA in December, and the winners were announced Sunday.

The others students hail from New York, Texas, Minnesota, China, Zimbabwe and Arizona.

Her full video can be seen on YouTube.
