10 films to consider seeing this weekend

1 ‘Riddick’
Did you know Vin Diesel’s “Pitch Black” character’s full name is Richard B. Riddick? Anyway, he’s back, even though no one saw the nine-year-old sequel. That’s because Diesel’s back on top — or back in a franchise (“Fast & Furious”) he once abandoned.

2 ‘Salinger’
Noted recluse J.D. Salinger finally gets a splashy, albeit not entirely fawning life-spanning documentary, which promises some well-kept shock revelations. (Spoiler: There are more Salinger manuscripts en route now that he’s no longer alive to thwart their publication.)

3 ‘Adore’
Naomi Watts and Robin Wright play longtime besties, so much so that the latter starts having sex with the former’s son (Xavier Samuel).

4 ‘Touchy Feely’
Filmmaker Lynn Shelton (“Humpday,” “Your Sister’s Sister”) goes slightly more traditional (or at least invests in a tripod and fewer improvised scenes) with this study of a masseuse (Rosemarie DeWitt) who loses her sense of touch.

5 ‘Good Ol’ Freda’
Freda Kelly, who served as the fan club secretary for The Beatles from 1963 to 1972, opens up about her former employers in this latest addition to the towering Fab Four movie pile.

6 ‘A Teacher’
If you can’t do “Adore,” consider this other movie about older women and young boys shtupping. Lindsay Burge plays a teacher whose one student (Will Brittain) is hot for her, but with very un-Van Halen-y results.

7 ‘Red Obsession’
Dig the double meaning in the title: This documentary looks at the weirdly interesting evolution of Bordeaux wine, which has fallen in favor in the U.S. and Europe as it’s becoming a craze in China.

8 ‘One Direction: This is Us’
Why, yes, Morgan Spurlock made a concert movie about the boy band One Direction.

9 ‘Instructions Not Included’
Many were surprised last weekend when this vehicle for Mexican actor Eugenio Derbez cracked the top five at the North American box office, having the best ever debut of any Spanish-language film.

10 ‘The World’s End’
Meanwhile, not enough people are seeing the third in Edgar Wright, Simon Pegg and Nick Frost’s Cornetto Trilogy, following “Shaun of the Dead” and “Hot Fuzz.” It’s delightful. Get on that, people who like good things.
