Subway ads spotlight New Yorkers’ reading habits
Have you ever discreetly peeked over a fellow subway rider’s shoulder to see what they’re reading?
Book site Bookish is hoping you have – and they’re hoping they can amp up your subway reading experience.
The site launched an ad campaign underground this month, zeroing in on how New Yorkers read while zipping through the city.
Perhaps some subway lines are considered more book friendly — the ads engage readers on 2, 3, 4, 5, A and F trains.
Each of the three ads spotlight straphangers immersed in literature.
In one, a woman curls around a subway pole as a man reads, while a man in a boxy trench coat and hat stands nearby.
Little Red Riding Hood appears in another, joined by a straphanger leaning on a subway seat.
A third spotlights Frankenstein, this one urging a subway ride with more “character.”
