The Word: Morrissey’s ‘Autobiography’ breaking records in U.K.
The new Morrissey autobiography is breaking records in the U.K. but American readers are out of luck.“Autobiography” was released Thursday in the U.K. and has already sold more than 20,000 copies on its first day. However, there is no U.S. release date set.
The former frontman for The Smiths apparently demanded that “Autobiography” be published by the Penguin Classics imprint, which is usually the imprint for, well, classics (think along the lines of “Moby Dick”). The publisher, probably desperate for any and all book sales agreed, calling it a “classic in the making.”
