Randi Zuckerberg lays down the social media rules in her new book, “Dot Complicated.”

You pull out your phone to respond to a text, but get distracted when you see an email from your boss. Even though it’s 10 p.m., you know she’ll expect you to respond. Because you always respond. Sound familiar? If tech is stressing you out, let Randi Zuckerberg simplify your life. The social media mogul will be at the Union Square Barnes & Noble Thursday, November 7 to talk about her new book, “Dot Complicated” and answer questions about how to simplify your life while still staying plugged in. Ariana Huffington will host the event, which starts at 8 p.m.

Zuckerberg’s book, “Dot Complicated: Untangling Our Wired Lives” is a guide for how to use social media, such as Facebook and Twitter, without feeling overwhelmed by it. So if you’re wondering if it’s weird to Facebook-friend your boss or if it’s rude not to “follow” someone on Twitter who started following you, this book will answer all your conundrums. The book is also part memoir and Zuckerberg shares her experience working at Facebook, co-founded by her brother Mark Zuckerberg.

The book is out now and the event will be Thursday, November 7 at 8 p.m. at Barnes & Noble, located at 33 E. 17th St.
