Hannah is waiting from Patti Lupone at Felix restaurant. She gets a call from Adam — he’s at a callback. “Everyone here looks how I’d look with a nose job,” he says. He becomes acquainted with an actor named Desi while they wait for their auditions. Patti cancels and meanwhile, Adam learns that he got the part. He walks into a bathroom and stuffs his mouth with a paper towel so he can scream. He meets Desi in front of the office and finds out they both got their parts. Desi offers him a ride on his motorcycle.

Hannah stalks out Patti and finds her rehearsing. She tells her she needs to finish this piece today. It’s a sponsored editorial for a bone density drug called Strinova, but it turns out Patti doesn’t even have osteoporosis. They sit for a quick interview when Adam calls Hannah to tell her he got the part. She tells Patti that Adam is going to be in his first Broadway role in “Major Barbara.” Patti warns her that he’s going to be “an a—hole” and that he’s going to be “f—ing everyone.” Hannah says Adoo funny-looking, and Patti responds that the Elephant Man got laid — a lot.

Marnie bumps into Soojin, Booth Jonathan’s assistant, who tells Marnie she’s opening a new gallery. Marnie tries to get a job there, but Soojin shuts her down.

Hannah gets her first paycheck and is shocked that it’s a lot more than her rent so she goes shopping.

Jessa is killing time at work and her creepy British “friend” from rehab walks in. He’s been looking for her this whole time. He’s high and he tells her she can’t be tamed and that she should run away with him.

Hannah and Adam have a romantic night together at the Gramercy Park Hotel because she has to write a review for work. Hannah’s clearly shaken, though, by Adam’s newfound success.

Marnie walks into Ray’s apartment and tells him about her day. Ray tells her he wants a relationship and a real girlfriend. Marnie says, “So you’re dumping me?” and posits that he’s just trying to humiliate the girl he couldn’t get in high school. She storms out with a slice of pizza in her hand.

Hannah and her friends surprise Adam when he walks in with Desi. He had a part in “One Tree Hill,” and Elijah and Shoshanna are starstruck. He tells them a story when Marnie storms in, clearly upset. Hannah follows her to the bathroom and Marnie starts crying and tells her she can’t say what’s wrong. In the living room, Adam’s friend is singing and Marnie joins him for a duet. Elijah joins in too.

Jess and her friend interrupt the party and Hannah says, “Maybe we shouldn’t have taken her out of rehab.” He walks into a room and talks to Shoshanna and they’re talking at the same exact speed and he asks her for cocaine. She tells him she doesn’t do cocaine and he says, “But you’re on cocaine.” He wants more coke, so they need money and he and Jessa walk to her store to steal money.

Later, Hannah and Adam take a bath together in their hotel room and Adam complains about Elijah and Hannah complains about Desi. She tells him she doesn’t want him to get so happy about the play that he never wants to spend time with her anymore. They get over it and she asks him to read some lines, and he nails that Olde English accent. Adam Driver’s Juilliard education is certainly good for something.
