The Word: Shakira wants to breastfeed her son until college

Shakira wants to make sure her son never goes hungry. Very, very sure.

The “Voice” judge is so into breastfeeding her 4-month-old son Milan that she has no plans to stop until he is legally old enough to refuse. ”Breastfeeding has been one of the best experiences of my life,” she told Us Weekly. “I love it! I can’t stop!” She added, “I think I’m going to breastfeed him until he goes to college! I’m hooked!”

Well, gross! But despite the hyperbole, Shakira does seem adorably into motherhood. She says she’s never been as chilled out as she is with Milan.

“I thought I was going to be super-controlling,” she said. “It’s so surprising because everybody thought I was going to be one of those hysterical mothers, like smothering mothers, and I feel that I’m not as nervous. I’m relaxed.”

Yeah, one of those non-smothering, relaxed mothers who insists on breastfeeding for all eternity. Good luck, Milan.

In the meantime, Shakira will be looking for a new gig. Christina Aguilera will resume her coaching duties on “The Voice” next season, replacing Shakira, who occupied the spinny chair of judgment during the fourth season. Christina was absent last season to promote her album, “Lotus,” according to Hollywood Life.
