The Word: Alan Thicke says his son Robin ‘looks great naked’

It’s nice when your dad believes in you. Maybe not quite so nice, though, when he’s vocally supportive of your sex appeal.

Robin Thicke’s dad, former “Growing Pains” star Alan Thicke, attributed the success of his son’s song “Blurred Lines” to his sexiness. “He’s a stud. He’s 6’4, he’s in great shape genetically, organically, and then he works out and works hard and takes care of himself,” Robin told Yahoo. “Believe me, he looks great naked.”

I believe him. I also believe Robin is probably cringing somewhere with his hands over his ears. Is this reverse psychology to get Robin to stop filling his videos with naked ladies? Most dads would probably find that hard to watch. Then again, Alan Thicke clearly isn’t most dads. Happy Father’s Day, guys. Bet it was weird.

Thicke scored his first No. 1 in the British singles charts with “Blurred Lines,” which became the fastest selling single of 2013, the Official Charts Company said in early June.

The song, which features hip-hop artists T.I. and Pharrell Williams, sold 190,000 copies during its first week on sale, knocking British rapper Naughty Boy’s dance track “La La La,” featuring London singer Sam Smith, to No. 2.

“It is an honor and a pleasure to be No. 1 in the U.K. It’s something I’ve always dreamed of,” Robin told the Official Charts Company.
