The Word: Jayma Mays will miss most of ‘Glee’ next year
You probably thought the “Glee” cast bloodbath was over after Heather Morris, Mark Salling, Harry Shum Jr., and Amber Riley announced their exits. After all, their characters were in high school – it makes sense for them to exit after their characters graduate. But this one may take you by surprise: Jayma Mays will also miss most of next season.
Mays, who plays guidance counselor/Will’s wife Emma, has signed on to a new comedy pilot in the fall. She’ll play Will Arnett’s sister in “The Millers,” according to E! Online. But not to worry, this doesn’t mean Will and Emma’s marriage is over before it began – a source says Jayma’s been approved to appear in a few episodes.
Matthew Morrison, who stars on “Glee,” as teacher Will Schuester, is engaged to his girlfriend of two years, Renee Puente.
Morrison’s friend Elton John was the one who made the happy news public. He took the stage last night at his White Tie and Tiara Ball in London to announce the couple’s engagement, then invited Coldplay singer Chris Martin onstage for a duet of “Your Song,” which he dedicated to Morrison and Puente, according to E! Online.
