Sounds like “Vampire Diaries” star Zach Roerig has some real life demons to slay: He’s filed for full custody of his 2-year-old daughter because her mother is in jail.

Roerig, who plays Matt Donovan on “The Vampire Diaries,” has a daughter with a woman named Alanna Turner. Turner is currently in jail for “various crimes” and has been arrested at least three times, according to TMZ. Roerig is asking the court to grant him full custody of their daughter, and to compel Ms. Turner to pay child support.

Well, yikes. Good luck to Matt on resolving what sounds like a nightmarish family situation. It’s rough when the set of a vampire soap opera is the best place to raise a child.

Most TV shows like to shake things up for their season finales, but no one does it like “The Vampire Diaries.” It’s the only show on TV where the question isn’t “who lives and who dies?” but rather “who stays dead?” and “who changes species?”

This spring’s season finale was no exception. Spoiler alert: Bonnie’s a ghost, Elena and Damon are together, and Katherine’s now a human. But executive producer Julie Plec says Katherine was actually their third choice for devampage.

“I think in the back of our heads we always intended to heal Elena,” she told E! Online. “But the instant that we actually made the decision to move forward with Elena the first thing we realized was she would of course be the one person we couldn’t cure because it was just too easy.”
