The Word: Is Katie Holmes moving to Brooklyn?

Katie Holmes was reportedly spotted with a realtor scouting Brooklyn locations – for a new home.

Are Katie and Suri planning to become Brooklyn girls? Fort Greene residents have apparently spotted Katie Holmes making the rounds with a real estate broker recently, according to Page Six.

Katie and Suri currently live in a fancy apartment building in Chelsea. Although the neighborhood is awfully convenient for… well, whatever it is they do day-to-day, it’s not hard to see why they might head to Brooklyn. More and more stars are choosing to raise their young families in the borough: Michelle Williams, Anne Hathaway and Keri Russell all call Brookyln home.

Besides, Suri’s a growing girl. She needs a steady supply of whimsy that Chelsea simply cannot provide. Brooklyn should have that more than covered.

As for Katie, she is reportedly ready to start dating again after her split from Tom Cruise, but sources say the fallout from their divorce is still having an effect on her, according to Radar Online.

“Katie’s in a dilemma, because she wants to date but is concerned where it could lead to from there,” source says. “She’s worried that if she commits herself fully to another man, she will have to give up the freedom she’s enjoying so much at the moment.

“As a single woman, she has no one controlling her nowadays, telling her what to do or who to see and she absolutely loves it.  However, at the same time, she also misses being with someone special to share experiences with, and she doesn’t want to be alone for the rest of her life.”
