Breaking news: Christina Hendricks to play a stripper in the film adaptation of you don’t even care, do you?

The supernaturally beautiful “Mad Men” star will appear in the upcoming film of “Dark Places,” a mystery novel by Gillian Flynn, author of last summer’s megahit mystery “Gone Girl.” According to Deadline, Hendricks will portray Krissi Cates, a stripper with a dark secret with important implications for protagonist Libby Day (Charlize Theron) and her imprisoned brother (Corey Stoll).

Hendricks will also appear in the movie of “Gone Girl,” but as a TV host or whatever. Probably some fully clothed person.

Rosamund Pike, the British actress last seen on the big screen in Tom Cruise’s “Jack Reacher” is working on a yet another book-to-film adaptation: The hotly anticipated “Gone Girl,” based on the bestselling 2012 novel by Gillian Flynn. Per the Hollywood Reporter, Pike will play a wife who goes missing, making her husband (Ben Affleck) the prime suspect in the David Fincher-helmed movie.

The relatively unknown Pike was somewhat of a surprise pick for the lead, as many 30-something A-listers were hot for the role, including Charlize Theron, Emily Blunt, Olivia Wilde, Abbie Cornish and Natalie Portman.
