The Word: Lindsay Lohan’s new all-American boyfriend

Lindsay Lohan is dating former pro football player Matt Nordgren, who played for the Philadelphia Eagles for a season and also appeared on the reality show “Most Eligible Dallas.”

Apparently, friends think Matt’s clean-cut lifestyle is just what Lindsay needs right now. “He’s older, a successful businessman, and he has been a great friend to her,” a source tells Us Weekly. “He’s also a Christian and won’t drink around her. He’s trying to keep her sober and on the straight and narrow. He’s really good for her.”

Ooh, this is like something out of a movie from the fifties. He’s a small town football player who loves his mama and goes to church every Sunday, and she’s the big city girl with a shady past and a flask up her poodle skirt, and she knows she’s all wrong for him, but something about his big blue eyes makes her wanna go straight, see?

In an interview with Oprah, Lohan seemed ready to admit that things have gone badly wrong of late, and said she believed her behavior had its roots in an unstable childhood. “A lot of stuff went on with my family when I was young and I grew up in a very chaotic home and then there were moments of everything being wonderful and perfect and then things being so uncontrollable and chaotic that — it’s something people go through and unfortunately I waited too long to face it,” she told Oprah.
