The Word: Princess Eugenie is a New Yorker now

EPSOM, ENGLAND - JUNE 02: Princess Eugenie watches the Derby sporting Union Jack nail varnish on June 2, 2012 in Epsom, England. For only the second time in its history, the UK celebrates the Diamond Jubilee of a monarch. Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II celebrates the 60th anniversary of her ascension to the throne. Thousands of wellwishers from around the world have flocked to London to witness the spectacle of the weekend's celebrations. The Queen along with all the members of the royal family will participate in a River Pageant with a flotilla of 1,000 boats accompanying them down the Thames, a star studded free concert at Buckingham Palace, and a carriage procession and a Service of Thanksgiving at St Paul's Cathedral. Whoa. How was I not aware of this?

How is it possible that a British royal moved to New York City, where I live, and I did not learn of it until several days or weeks had passed? I feel like all Americans should have felt it in our bones, or Revolutionary War cannons should have fired the moment she signed the lease, or something like that.

Princess Eugenie, daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson and seventh in line for the English throne, has moved to Manhattan. She lives in a nine-story apartment building in SoHo, allowing her to walk (!) to work (!!) at the online art auction site Paddle8, according to Us Weekly.

I don’t want to stake out her commute so I can casually walk the same route every morning and become best friends with a princess. But I feel like she’s left me no choice.

Eugenie’s cousin-in-law Kate Middleton took a timeout from mommy duties to meet and greet Olympians and Paralympians at the Sportaid Athlete Workshop at the Copper Box on Oct. 18 in London.

Wearing skinny jeans, wedge shoes and a striped top paired with a blazer, the Duchess of Cambridge showed off her volleyball skills and her amazing flat stomach. She never fails when it comes to style.
