Sir Ian McKellen and Sir Patrick Stewart continue their holiday selfie tradition on New Year’s Eve 2013.

How was your New Year’s Eve? Champagne? Kisses? Patrick Stewartses? No to that last one? Well, I guess your evening wasn’t as nice as Ian McKellen’s, then.

Sirs Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart continued to chart their bromance in selfies on New Year’s Eve, but on yet another social medium – Instagram. SirPatStew’s inaugural Instagram post was a video of the two actors in silly 2014 glasses, playing “Auld Lang Syne” on noisemakers.

The post actually went live before midnight New York time, but they are British, after all – maybe they were celebrating New Year’s in England.

This is only the latest in a string of holiday selfies for the two BFFs, who seem to spend every major holiday together – they also shared a beaming Thanksgiving selfie, in which they wore strikingly similar hats.

McKellen also officiated at his friend and “X-Men” costar’s wedding to Sunny Ozell this summer – and that event, too, was duly selfie-chronicled. McKellen took to Twitter to announce the event, posting a photo of himself with his Doctor of Divinity certificate and a T-shirt with the word “minister” emblazoned on it. “I did my part,” he wrote.
