Express Tracks is set on a commuter-train trip from Camden to Trenton. When the train breaks down and the heat and tension build between commuters, revelations of secrets and questions emerge.
In reality this play is about FEAR. We all have it — deep, hidden, fierce, rational and irrational, logical and illogical — but madly powerful and hard to tame. We, as a society, learn to mask it, hide it, deny it. Some of us bluster and tough it out. Some smile and nod. Some retreat into books, smart phones, or drugs. Some hide. Some weep. But it’s there. Lurking. And then one day you are on the train and in walks trouble.
This new play was last seen in a staged-reading at Waterfront South Theatre. The playwright has made some exciting updates since then and this fully-staged production is being directed by Lee Kiszonas.
