A fracas at a Manyunk bar early Sunday left one man stabbed and one under arrest, police said.
The investigation is still open, police said Sunday morning. One suspect in the incident at Mad River Club is in custody and another is being sought by police.
According to police, the trouble broke out around 12:50 a.m. on Sunday, when the victim, a 24-year-old male, was approached by the suspect.
The suspect allegedly stated "You robbed me for $1500," according to police. The victim denied knowing the man and laughed at him as things escalated.
From the preliminary police report:
"The complainant [victim] stated that he didn’t know the male and had never seen the male before. The complainant stated that he thought the guy was a bouncer and pointed at the male and began laughing. Offender #1 reached into his pocket and stated to the complainant, 'Let’s go outside.' The complainant refused to go outside and offender #1 pulled out a knife from his pants pocket. The complainant stated that he then punched offender #1 and they began fighting. The complainant stated that another unknown male / offender #2 struck him on his left side. The fight was broken up by the bouncers and it was at this time that the complainant realized that he had been stabbed on his left side."
Mad River staff detained the suspect who wielded a knife while applying towels to the victim's wound and calling police.
The victim was listed in stable condition at Temple University Hospital.
Officers recovered the knife used in the incident, but are still seeking the second offender, who is described as a white male in his 20s with a thin build and last seen wearing a white shirt.
