PHOTOS: New York’s top 10 best-dressed gay newlyweds

Gay couples who decided to tie the knot put on their Sunday best for a Sunday that will go down in history.

As gay couples exchanged vows for the first legal time in New York Sunday, they celebrated the momentous occasion with wedding ensembles that did not disappoint. Some couples kept it casual, while others pulled out all the stops, putting their own special twists on a day that will go down in history.

While the day was filled with memorable wedding garb, we picked five of the best dressed newlywed couples we caught up with on their wedding day. Which do you think are best?

It was a day 31 years in the making for Bob Finkelstein and Don Lemoine. They donned matching navy blue blazers, accented with orchid boutonnieres and “just married” sashes. Congrats Bob and Don!

Stephanie Spahr and Theresa Lafroscia put a royal twist on their special day with Stephanie’s Kate Middleton-esque fascinator. Cheers Stephanie and Theresa!

It was a dream in royal blue for Shantell Dorsey and Elisa Lindsey, who have been together for 6 months. They are definitely two of a kind!

Peter Vargas and Felix Ramirez made it a dapper day in their 3-piece suits with purple Windsor ties. When you’ve waited 24 years for the occasion, why not go all out?

We love the cultural touch that David Lewis and Adam McKew put on their wedding day outfits with kilts! Well done, lads!
