Weekend football betting guide

Wes Welker

Sunday 1 p.m.

Dolphins (0-6) at Giants (4-2)

Line: Giants -10 (O/U 43.5)
The Scoop: We know Miami won’t win SU. But they are also 0-6 ATS this season.
Pick: Giants

Jaguars (2-5) at Texas (4-3)

Line: Texans -9.5 (O/U 40.5)
The Scoop: The Jags are really struggling. They are 1-5 SU?in their last six and Houston always scores.
Pick: Texans

Cardinals (1-5) at Ravens (4-2)

Line: Ravens -13 (O/U 43)
The Scoop: The Ravens average 26 points per game. How are they going to win by two touchdowns?
Pick: Cardinals

Saints (5-2) at Rams (0-6)

Line: Saints -13.5 (O/U 47.5)
The Scoop: Just like the Dolphins, the Rams are winless SU?and winless ATS. Saints bludgeon them here.
Pick: Saints

Vikings (1-6) at Panthers (2-5)

Line: Panthers -3.5 (O/U 48)
The Scoop: Carolina is a sneaky 5-2 ATS with Comeback Cam Newton.
Pick: Panthers

Colts (0-7) at Titans (3-3)

Line: Titans -7.5 (O/U 43.5)
The Scoop: The Colts do keep some games close (2-5 ATS), but they’re on the road. Take the Titans instead.
Pick: Titans

Sunday, 4:05 p.m.

Lions (5-2) at Broncos (2-4)

Line: Lions -3 (O/U 42)
The Scoop: Tebow! Tebow Tebow Tebow! All the money is on Superman … so go with the Lions.
Pick: Lions

Redskins (3-3) at Bills (4-2)

Line: Bills -6 (O/U 45.5)
The Scoop: Bills are 6-0 with the O/U, so go over. For the game, go Skins in Toronto (not Buffalo).
Pick: Redskins

Sunday 4:15 p.m.

Steelers at Patriots

Line: Patriots -3 (O/U 52.5)
Key injuries: WR Hines Ward (ankle) probable. DT Casey Hampton (shoulder) questionable. LB James Harrison (eye) out. LB Jerod Mayo (knee) questionable. LB Dane Fletcher (thumb) doubtful.
The scoop: The Steelers are getting three points at home, which means the experts think this is a pick ‘em. Why? We don’t know. The Pats are 8-1 in the teams’ last nine meetings. New England scores 31 points per game versus Pittsburgh’s 21 points per game. And the Steelers are 1-4 ATS in their last five against New England. And no, being in Pittsburgh doesn’t matter. They are 1-6 ATSat home in their last seven against the Patriots. I think you know our pick.
Pick: Patriots

Bengals (4-2) at Seahawks (2-4)

Line: Bengals -3 (O/U 38)
The Scoop: The Bengals are 5-1 ATS, but remember that’s usually as an underdog. They aren’t here.
Pick: Seahawks

Browns (3-3) at 49ers (5-1)

Line: 49ers -9 (O/U 38.5)
The Scoop: The Browns’ Peyton Hillis is questionable. Niners are 5-0-1?ATS.
Pick: 49ers

Sunday, 8:20 p.m.

Cowboys (3-3) at Eagles (2-4)

Line: Eagles -3.5 (O/U 50.5)
The Scoop: The Eagles are terrible ATS (1-4) and SU (0-5) in their last five games at home. It’s tough to keep going against the “Dream Team,” but the trends are not in their favor. Remember, those three points they get are for playing this at home, so it’s basically straight up. That’s why we go Dallas.
Pick: Cowboys

Monday, 8:30 p.m.

Chargers (4-2) at Chiefs (3-3)

Line: Chargers -3.5 (O/U 44)
The Scoop: The Chargers are just 4-9-1 ATS?in their last 15 games at Kansas City. They are also 2-6 ATS in their last eight games. That’s not a good sign for a team that is
perceived to be better than the Chiefs by a good margin. Arrowhead is one of the most underrated home fields as well and it’ll be rocking.
Pick: Chiefs

College Football

Saturday, Noon

Mich. St. (6-1) at Nebraska (6-1)

Line: Nebraska -4
The Scoop: Ignore Nebraska being 2-5 ATS; those are big spread games. Sparty won’t luck out in Lincoln.
Pick: Nebraska

Purdue (4-3) at Michigan (6-1)

Line: Michigan -13.5
The Scoop: Purdue is 1-5 in their last six at the Big House. They’ll lose, and they’ll lose by two scores.
Pick: Michigan

Saturday 3 p.m.

Wash. St. (3-4) at Oregon (6-1)

Line: Oregon -35
The Scoop: Oregon will win SU, but many players, including LaMichael James, are questionable.
Pick: Washington State

Saturday 3:30 p.m.

Illinois (6-2) at Penn State (7-1)

Line: Penn State -5
The Scoop: Penn St. plays ugly, low-scoring games, which is why they are 2-6 ATS this year.
Pick: Illinois

BC (1-6) at Maryland (2-5)

Line: Maryland -7.5
The Scoop: Both are 2-5 ATS, but at least Maryland can score.
Pick: Maryland

Oklahoma (6-1) at Kansas St. (7-0)

Line: Oklahoma -13.5
The Scoop: The Bill Snyder dream ends. And the Sooners are angry after losing to Texas Tech.
Pick: Oklahoma

Baylor (4-2) at Okla. St. (7-0)

Line: Oklahoma State -14
The Scoop: The Cowboys are 6-1 ATS and have an open path to the BCS title game. They won’t let up.
Pick: Oklahoma State

Georgia (5-3) at Florida (4-3)

Line: Georgia -3
The Scoop: Florida has lost their last three, scoring less than 11 each game. How are they only getting 3?
Pick: Georgia

Saturday, 8 p.m.

Stanford (7-0) at USC (6-1)

Line: Stanford -7.5
The Scoop: Game of the Week. Stanford isn’t just good SU, they are 7-0 ATS. USC? Just 4-3 ATS.
Pick: Stanford

Wisconsin (6-1) at Ohio State (4-3)

Line: Wisconsin -7.5
The Scoop: Wisconsin bounces back from the Hail Mary. Big.
Pick: Wisconsin
