Worley’s World: Craigslist sells awesome cars

If you’re selling an exotic sports car and you post those wheels on Craigslist, you might meet Vance Worley. When ‘Vanimal’ wasn’t focusing on baseball in his rookie season, he was sitting at his locker scanning the online ads for his ultimate car.

“That would be the ’69 Camaro,” Worley said. “That’s my dream car. The funny thing is that I did almost buy one off of Craigslist when I was in Lehigh Valley. When they brought it up, I heard it coming, I said, ‘Damn, this sounds good.’ But when I got up close, I thought, ‘This screams body work.’ It’s a shame since it had a lot more rust on it than they said.”

But that won’t deter Worley to cruise Craigslist. He has made like a GM and traded parts.

“That’s what I did when I had a 1990 IROC,” Worley said. “I made my deals, but ultimately I sold all of my stuff because I just don’t have the time anymore. There’s other stuff I have to pay attention to.”

Like the ’06 Corvette.

“I’ve upgraded from a Camaro,” Worley said. “It’s a nice ride.”

Worley also rocks another high performance vehicle.

“I just did some work on my Chrysler 300 CSRT, 2007, it’s like a Bentley but it’s not,” Worley said.

But it could pass for a Bentley. Would Worley ever park his Bentley-esque car in a TGI Friday’s handicapped zone like Allen Iverson supposedly did when the former Sixer hung out in Bala Cynwyd?

“Did he really do that?,” Worley said. “I would never do that. I have no problem parking where I should. But I do love cars. Some guys do and I’m one of those guys. I love the look and sound of certain cars and, of course, I love driving them.”
