No more Ochocinco: Chad changes name back to ‘Johnson’
The reverse name change had been rumored ever since the original name change in 2008.
Chad Ochocinco is no more and Chad Johnson has returned to the NFL. The Miami Dolphins receiver originally changed his last name from Johnson to Ochocinco, seemingly in protest to the NFL for not allowing him to put the nickname on the back of his jersey.
Johnson’s on-field production has gone down in nearly every season since the name change. He had the worst season of his career last season with the Patriots, catching only 15 balls for 276 yards and recording just one touchdown.
Johnson married reality TV star Evelyn Lozada earlier this month.
