The Word: Way too far, Demi Moore

Demi Moore poses with daughter Rumor Willis.

Demi Moore’s recent hospitalization didn’t quite come as a surprise to those who were close to her, reports Us Weekly. It seems her split from Ashton Kutcher had her craving the company of a younger crowd that she wasn’t equipped to keep up with.

“She’s been really down, and she’s surrounding herself with young people to make her feel better,” a source tells the magazine. “She’s been mixing pills and Red Bulls, among other things.”

We want to feel for Demi and her impossibly flawless 49-year-old skin. After spending the past few years with Kutcher — who, although 33, seems to only own cargo pants and flip-flops — the transition to adulthood must be tough.

But moving in on Zac Efron? Too far, lady. According to another source, she was pursuing the “High School Musical” star at a recent house party, looking “wired and gaunt.”

Listen, Demi: Inappropriately hitting on Zac Efron while tipsy is my deal — and I have “The Word” archives to prove it.

The Lohan countdown has begun

Just when we started to miss Lindsay Lohan, it looks like she’s about to be a regular presence in our lives again. Not only has she moved into hot-mess headquarters Chateau Marmont, but she has a new boyfriend: Henry Hopper, 21-year-old son of the late Dennis Hopper and star of Gus Van Sant’s recent “Restless,” according to TMZ. The happy couple was recently spotted picking up Red Bull and vodka in Venice (really, again? We had hoped rich people had better drugs than Red Bull).
Any time you’re ready, Linds.

Olivia Wilde still living the fairy tale

Olivia Wilde opens up about her recent divorce in the new issue of “Town & Country.” “The good thing about getting divorced young — if there is a good thing — is that it makes you realize there’s no schedule in life,” says the actress, who married Italian prince Tao Ruspoli at age 18. “It blasts you wide open and frees you to be honest with yourself.”

That’s a healthy way to look at it. But we can’t help but wonder: Does it help when the “wide open” is every studio in Hollywood and “yourself” is Olivia Wilde?
