The Word: Natalie Portman is married — and didn’t invite us

Portman is a married woman — or so says her jeweler.

After showing up to the Academy Awards sporting suspicious rings, it seems that Natalie Portman and Benjamin Millepied did, indeed, get married without telling us. Jeweler Jamie Wolf confirms that the couple — who met on the set of “Black Swan” and have a son together — created the wedding bands.
“I designed the rings worn by Benjamin Millepied and Natalie Portman,” Wolf told UsMagazine.com. “They were made with recycled platinum and conflict-free diamonds.”

Their eco-friendly jeweler leaked the news? This, friends, is what we call a rich person problem.

Jolie’s Oscar leg explained

After we had time to process Angelina Jolie’s display of a whole lot of right leg at the Oscars, we moved on to round two: finding answers. (At least we think this is round two — there aren’t a whole lot of guidelines here.) Naturally, an unnamed source who is “close to her” was happy to speculate about the pose to Perezhilton.com. “Angie was vamping it up, no more, nothing less,” says the source. “She was having fun, living in the moment, like she always does. She is absolutely oblivious to the controversy and attention the sexy pose has created.”

This is what we were afraid of. There’s no joke, no silly bet with George Clooney and Brad Pitt, no extra cocktail to blame: She thought this was sexy.

Angelina Jolie, you are Angelina Jolie, undisputed and supreme Hollywood sex symbol. Sticking your bare leg out on stage is the equivalent of Chris Rock getting up there and telling recycled “Two and a Half Men” jokes. You’re better than this — or, at least, hotter than this.

Spader is off ‘Office’

James Spader is ending his recurring role as the disturbing Robert California on “The Office” after this season. “James always wanted this to be a one-year arc, and he now leaves us having created one of the most enigmatic and dynamic characters in television,” said executive producer Paul Lieberstein in a statement.

We love a nice exit speech, but he’s not even the most “enigmatic” character at Dunder Mifflin. What say you, Dwight Schrute?

Great expectations for Blue Ivy

Blue Ivy Carter is just 7 weeks old, but some are already expecting she’ll follow in parents Beyonce and Jay-Z’s famous footsteps. “She is going to be an entertainer,” family friend Gwyneth Paltrow tells Hollywood Life. “She just has this glow around her like her mother.”

That glow? It’s most likely Cheerios dust, Gwyn — give the girl some room.
