J.Crew’s creates a collection for the High Line
As part of their new “Garments for Good” charitable program J.Crew is getting involved with the community. The preppy-turned-high fashion American brand has created a new exclusive collection to benefit the High Line’s annual maintenance and operations.
Launching on July 24, the new line of soft cotton t-shirts and sweatshirts for men, women and kids will feature images that celebrate the abandoned railway on Manhattan’s West Side which was transformed into a swank public park. Images on the garments include photographs by artist Joel Sternfeld, botanical illustrations by George Olson and illustrations by children’s author Peter Brown. If you’re not in the market for t-shirts the collection also includes a “Park in the Sky” canvas tote bag, friendship bracelets and a onesie for babies.
Prices for the collection range from $15 to $78 and 100 percent of the proceeds will support Friends of the High Line, helping the non-profit keep the park somewhere you still want to meet friends for lunch. All items will be available at the High Line Shop as well as select J.Crew stores and www.jcrew.com.
