What Lena Dunham’s Vogue cover might look like

Lena looks almost as wistful at Katy Perry, July ’13.

Besides being pap-snapped in sweatpants, Lena Dunham seems to have been in hiding during the run-up to season 3 of “Girls” (it airs on Sunday on HBO), leaving her co-stars to do all the glitzy promo instead. As Fashionista highlighted, Zosia Mamet covered ASOS magazine and scored a full editorial in InStyle, indie girl Jemima Kirk was featured on The Glow and in Brooklyn Magazine, whilst Allison Williams has been the real limelight pony, scoring back her waning “fashion girl” cred by appearing on the covers of January’s Glamour Mexico, February’s Elle and InStyle UK.

So is Lena Dunham focused on thinking up cringy scenes for season four and witty award acceptance speeches instead? Or she up to something else, like a fashion moment that is associated with exclusivity, power, a pair of nude Manolos and a signature bob perhaps? According to Page Six there is a Lena Vogue cover on the way. Set to hit newsstands on January 22, Vogue is yet to confirm whether the rumours surrounding its February issue are true. But it’s clear that Dunham has already got the royal seal of approval from Anna Wintour. She joined Lena on the red carpet for the show’s premiere on Monday night. And we can’t imagine she just turned up because her daughter’s a fan.

So what would her cover look like? Will there be nudity? Comedy? Because we really hope this is happening and we’re not willing to wait a minute longer, we had a little fun creating a few of our own. Click through the gallery, find your favourite.
