Police arrested six men in Bucks County early yesterday after they smuggled about 42 pounds of cocaine from Mexico to Bensalem with plans to distribute it to the Philadelphia and possibly Allentown area, Public Safety Director Fred Harran said. The drugs had a street value of about $8 million.

Two of the men – Fernando Garcia, 31, and Arnaldo Rodriguez, 33, – were from Philadelphia.

They were arrested at a warehouse on State Road along with Alfonso Vallejo, 45, of Brownsville, Texas; Jairo Nunez-Dejesus, 35, of Allentown; Antonio Ferreira, 34, of Whitehall and Jhon Torres, 34, of Macungie, Pa. Vallejo is a citizen of Mexico, while Nunez-Dejesus, Ferreira and Torres are citizens of the Dominican Republic.

Police netted 19 kilos of cocaine that were smuggled from Mexico in a truck as part of an ongoing investigation spurred by a tip received by Bensalem police about dealing in the area of Haunted Lane, Harran said. The drugs were bound for redistribution in the Delaware Valley and possibly Allentown area. "I would think more arrests would be forthcoming," he said. "The investigation is ongoing."

The six suspects were arraigned yesterday morning and charged with manufacturing, delivery or possession with intent to deliver and related charges, according to a report from the Bucks County Courier Times, who broke the story. They were sent to Bucks County Prison with $1 million bail.
