A construction worker's leg was crushed after a lift holding him collapsed in Center City this afternoon.

The man, 33, was working on the facade of the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul at 18th Street and the Benjamin Franklin Parkway at 2:18 p.m. when the lift he was on fell, crushing his right leg.
