Assistant Chester County District Attorney
Patrick Carmody is quoted on Radar Online as saying, "In 2005, [Ryan] Dunn was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol
and entered a first offender's program that allowed him to clear his
record after a certain period of good behavior."
That sounds like
Pennsylvania's ARD program, which is often deemed fitting for a first-offender without extenuating circumstances. The charges are
confirmed by Chester County court documents, as well.
Friends -- and at least one employee of Barnaby's of America -- have
been quoted saying the late "Jackass" star had three beers and three shots
last night but was cogent enough to drive safely.
Critics, however, have been quick to point out that the fiery crash is another example of
DUI turned fatal.
April Margera, mother of Dunn's close friend Bam, asked Dan Gross of the
Daily News today to "Just please let everyone know what a great person he was."
