Mayor Nutter drops mic after July 4 performance of Rapper’s Delight

Mayor Michael Nutter knows how to get down.

Nutter joined The Roots onstage for their July 4 concert in Philadelphia to deliver a rendition of Rapper’s Delight, looking more like a life-long hip hop performer than a politician in video captured by 6ABC.

Nutter dropped the mic at the end of his rendition of the classic song by the Sugar Hill Gang.

Nutter has performed the piece with The Roots before – at the inauguration of his second term as mayor (see video below).
