In an exclusive interview with the local affiliate of his new employer, Fox News, former U.S. Sen. Scott Brown dismissed a rumor that he was drunk last month when he tweeted “Bqhatevwr” to thousands of his social media followers, and instead blamed his iPhone 5 for the message, although the non-word was was amid messages of “whatever” to critics.

“Now allegedly I’m drunk Tweeting. First of all I rarely drink. The last time I was ever drunk was my bachelor party. That was what, 28 years ago, or 27 years ago. So, I guess no one has ever pocket-dialed or pocket-Tweeted before,” Brown told Fox 25 in an interview airing tonight.

Brown claimed his daughter, Ayla, was teaching him how to access Facebook and Twitter, and there are some areas he didn’t understand.

“We were here right in the living room, and I responded to a couple of people, and then put it in my pocket, and then the next thing I wake up and I said – it trended worldwide,” he said.

Brown also said he is recharging and learning how to play guitar and speak Spanish while figuring out his  professional and political future.

Last month, Brown announced he would not run for the U.S. Senate seat held until recently by Secretary of State John Kerry, but in the interview he admitted he’s considering a run for governor: “I’m going to keep all options open. I’m not going to be one of those ‘Ooh, I’m really not thinking about it.’ Of course I’m thinking about it. I’m thinking about a lot of different things.”

The former senator said it is the first time in his life that he has “actually been doing things.”

“I’m learning to play the guitar. I’m running and racing. I’m learning Spanish. I’m trying to do some things that I’ve always wanted to do,” he said, and as for last year’s senate race, Brown has no regrets.

“Nothing. Nothing. I couldn’t have done anything differently. It was just it’s a national election with the coattails of the president. There’s nothing. I have nothing I would have changed at all. Nothing. And that’s why I feel very comfortable about who I am and what I’ve done,” he said.
