Police are investigating a man assaulted on the subway as a hate crime.

According to the police, on Monday night around 6 p.m., a 23-year-old man boarded a downtown 2 train at 125th Street and Lenox Avenue.

On the train, a woman began taking pictures of the victim and his friend, according to cops.

Cops described the first suspect as female, black, 20 to 22, with a light complexion and gray sweatpants.

The second is described as a dark-skinned male, 20 to 22, 5-foot-9 and in a blue jacket.

The other four suspects are two men and two women, dark skinned in their early 20s.
