On day of release, Chelsea man arrested again on gun charges
On the same day he was released from custody for allegedly bringing live ammunition into a Boston courthouse, a Chelsea man was arrested at Revere Beach for allegely having a cache of weapons with him.
Jack Lindsey, 66, pleaded not guilty Monday to multiple illegal gun and ammo chages, including a charge of being a level 3 armed career criminal becaue of his prior record, the Suffolk district attorney’s office said. He was ordered held on $25,000 cash bail.
Lindsey posted bail on Friday for a previous case that involved his bringing a loaded gun magazine into Suffolk Superior Court last month. When court security found the magazine in his jacket, he allegedly assaulted them and tried to flee, but was eventually caught. He posted bail and a judge imposed conditions for his release.
On the day he was released from custody, Lindsey was in a dimly-lit area of Revere Beach standing next to a Jeep Cherokee holding a shovel when a state trooper arrived. The trooper questioned Lindsey, frisked him and found two knives he had on him.
The trooper then searched his car and found multiple dozens of rounds of ammunition along with a .45-caliber gun, multiple knives and a metal detector, acuthorities said.
Lindsey is due back in court April 1.
